IGNOU Bangalore Announces Admissions for January 2025 Session, Fee Exemption for SC/ST Students

Bangalore,25th February, 2025– The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Regional Centre Bangalore today announced the commencement of admissions for the January 2025 session, offering a wide array of Certificate, Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma, Degree, and Master’s Degree programs.

Dr. M. Shanmugam, Regional Director I/c, addressing a press conference at the Press Club of Bangalore, highlighted the university’s commitment to accessible education. “IGNOU, a Central University with NAAC A++ accreditation under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, is dedicated to providing quality education to all,” he stated.

Applications are now being accepted online through the official admission portal: [https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in/](https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in/). Prospective students are advised to upload all necessary documents during the application process.

In a significant move to support underprivileged students, IGNOU is offering fee exemption to SC/ST candidates whose annual family income is below ₹2.5 lakh. These eligible students can pursue Bachelor of Arts (BAM), Bachelor of Commerce (BAF), and Bachelor of Science (BSCM) programs by paying only a nominal registration fee of ₹300.

“We believe in empowering students from all backgrounds,” Dr. Shanmugam emphasized. “This fee exemption aims to remove financial barriers and encourage higher education among deserving candidates.”

Furthermore, IGNOU is offering direct admission to its Master of Business Administration (MBA) program without any entrance test.
